What's New in DFSMS/MVS Jim Maguire, an IBM Senior Specialist, discussed DFSMS/MVS V1.5 in detail. This product includes DFP, DSS, HSM and RMM storage management functions, including SMS. As CICS continues to flourish, and users require more an more resources, a technical understanding of this major software tool is vital in the online environment.
Afternoon Sessions:
S/390, the Web and CICS Vaughn Burton, an IBM Senior IT Specialist, discussed the elements of CICS Web support and the 3270 bridge. The discussion will included the mechanics and benefits of using CICS to accept and process HTTP traffic directly from the web. A live demonstration on the use of CICS converters, and a live code walk through to demonstrate the use of the new CICS Web API's with CICS/TS 1.3 ws given.
